Summer in the Ötztal

Alpine pastures instead of palm trees
Holiday time that will give you mountains!

250 three-thousand-metre peaks create a magnificent panoramic backdrop for a summer holiday of excellence, with adventures and relaxation, with wild waters and tranquil lakes. With the new "Ötztal Premium Card", active vacationers will have just the right tool in their hands to fully experience the valley's diverse highlights individually, and that is including everything.

Summit strikers take note:
The Alps have a challenging new Haute Route - the Ötztal Trek with 22 stages and 15 variants, with 30,000 metres of ascent and 400 kilometres of total distance. Not only experienced alpine mountaineers or trained climbers can join the calling of the Ötztal mountains, but also leisurely walkers or mountain bikers can discover and experience their own personal highlights in the Ötztal: 1600 kilometres of marked hiking trails and 860 kilometres of biking trails stretch across the heights, the slopes and through the bottom of the Ötztal.

A landscape filled with colours and contrasts
The longest alpine valley in Tyrol also presents its guests with the largest glacier area in the Eastern Alps, in all its diversity on the 67 kilometres between the Ötztal freeway exit and the head of the valley. The eight Ötztal villages of Haiming, Sautens, Oetz, Umhausen, Längenfeld, Sölden, Vent and Obergurgl-Hochgurgl all have their own unique flair, with their sporty and chic, sophisticated or rural, quiet and dreamy appearance.

Tyrol's largest waterfall,
the Stuibenfall, plunges 159 meters into the depths near Umhausen. A walk on the waterfall path or scrambling on the via ferrata with foam and show effect on the torrent platforms bring a fresh summer feeling. Adventurous white-water sports enthusiasts can experience the full range of dynamics of wild mountain waters on the Ötztaler Ache, in the Imster Gorge or on the Inn River with trendy sports such as rafting or canyoning, kayaking or canoeing.

The healing power of water
is used in the "Aqua Dome", the thermal baths in Längenfeld with fun and adventure pools for the whole family. Simply swimming or fishing can be done in and at the Piburger Lake near Oetz, a true natural gem and at the same time one of the warmest bathing lakes in all of Tyrol.

From deep within the earth emerges the thermal water. It took four centuries from the former Längenfelder Badl in the 16th century to the creation of today’s modern AQUA DOME.
